Resumo: The thigh and proximal fracture of the femur appear as affections of the musculoskeletal system that cause a greater disability and, consequently, a decrease in the quality of life in the elderly. Hip arthroplasty is the treatment of choice in order to restore the autonomy of the elderly. However, the changes resulting from the surgery, give rise to self-care deficit. The nursing care in the mobilization at the time of surgery becomes a key element to empower the elderly and maximize the functionality of the operated limb. Objective: Identify the gains of nursing care intervention in mobilizing the elderly person after hip arthroplasty. Method: Research conducted in MEDLINE Complete and CINAHL Complete databases through the EBSCOhost platform in order to identify articles published between 2015 and 2020. After implementing the inclusion and exclusion criteria seven studies were selected. The evidence levels of the articles were ensured by Melnyk and Fineout-Overholt. Results: Nursing interventions in mobilizing the elderly after hip arthroplasty contribute to functional recovery, well-being and self-care, prevention of complications, health promotion, decrease in length of stay and client satisfaction. Conclusion: Nursing care in mobilization are essentials for the recovery of the elderly undergoing hip arthroplasty. The use of technologies, namely via WeChat, is essential to ensure the continuity of your rehabilitation process after hospital discharge.
